Expected Outcomes

As well as publishing scientific results from the MooDFOOD trial and observational studies, the MooDFOOD consortium will integrate these findings with wider research in the field to develop nutritional strategies for the prevention of depression. Comprised of academic experts, communication specialists, and not-for-profit organisations, the MooDFOOD consortium is well placed to develop and promote these nutritional strategies that encourage healthy eating for the prevention of depression across Europe. Expected outcomes of the MooDFOOD project are due in the Autumn of 2018 and include:

  • Scientific publication of the MooDFOOD projects study into the association between food related behaviours, nutrients, dietary patterns and body weight and depression. To see a list of current publications click: Scientific Publications
  • Integration of MooDFOOD project findings with wider research to conclude on the relationship between nutrients, dietary patterns, body weight and food related behaviours on risk of depression
  • Translation of MooDFOODs findings into feasible, sustainable nutritional strategies for the public, health professionals and policy makers
  • Creation of resources that promote the nutritional strategies for the prevention of depression for the public, researchers, health professionals and policy makers
  • Dissemination of the MooDFOOD projects results, nutritional strategies and produced resources by harnessing the reach of project partners throughout Europe and creating a case study of implementing the European Commission’s Guide to Communicating Research and Innovation
